The cost of repairing the back panel of Apple’s flagship smartphones has decreased. This was reported by Cult of Mac.
Media journalists noticed that at the presentation on September 12, Apple top managers focused on repairing smartphones. According to them, replacing damaged parts in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be easier. The authors of the portal studied the prices for repairing new devices and noted that repairing flagships will actually cost less.
Thus, replacement of the back glass for the iPhone 15 Pro in the USA was estimated at $169, iPhone 15 Pro Max at $199. By comparison, similar repairs for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are significantly more expensive—$499 and $549, respectively. Apple also named the benefits of purchasing the AppleCare+ extended warranty package when purchasing smartphones – with it, replacing the back panel will cost $29.
However, the cost of repairing the display remains high. Thus, replacing the iPhone 14 Pro screen is priced at $329, iPhone 14 Pro Max – $379.
Previously, the authors of Ars Technica found that new Apple smartphones will have to work equally with all USB-C accessories – official and third-party.
