9to5Mac: Belgium may ban sales of iPhone 12 following France

Belgium may be the second European country to ban sales of Apple’s 2020 smartphones. This was reported by 9to5Mac.

Media journalists referred to a statement by the Belgian Secretary of State for Digitalization, Mathieu Michel, who said that the local regulator will study the impact of the iPhone 12 on consumer health. “We immediately contacted the Belgian Institute of Postal Services and Telecommunications for confirmation or at least analysis,” Michelle said.

According to a representative of the regulator, if experts detect increased electromagnetic radiation from the iPhone 12, its sales may be banned.

Italian regulators also drew attention to the problem. In addition, representatives of the German regulator BNetzA said that the situation with the ban of the iPhone 12 in France could be a guideline for all European countries.

9to5Mac journalists noted that Apple has already responded to the problem, promising to release an update that will reduce the electromagnetic radiation of the iPhone 12.

French regulators in mid-September ordered Apple to suspend sales of the iPhone 12 due to too much electromagnetic radiation. The American company was informed of the need to fix the problem.
