If you were hoping for some facility that would shorten the time needed to deal with matters at the office or even the ability to apply for a passport online, you will be disappointed.

According to Cieszyński’s announcement, in mObywatel we will be able to… watch matches of the Polish national team. The application for dealing with civic matters will receive a new tab, tentatively called mTV. There will be broadcasts of matches including: football and volleyball teams and “digital goods of Polish culture” – films and other works produced for public money.

In the coming term, we want to enrich mObywatel with another function, which we tentatively call mTV. It will guarantee access not only to sporting events, but also to digital Polish cultural goods. Works produced with public money will eventually have to be made available in this formula

The announcement of the introduction of such a novelty to this type of application sounded like a joke, which was noticed by commenters on the X portal. But Cieszyński assures that “mTV” is not a joke at all and adds that the novelty fits into the global trend and will help attract more users to mObywatel, this time, those hungry for sports experiences. Perhaps volleyball, because – after the players’ defeat against Albania in Tirana – attracting football fans may prove to be a backbreaking task.

The minister did not reveal when the “national Netflix” – as one of the commenters called it – would be added to mObywatel. He also did not admit how much designing, creating and, above all, maintaining a streaming service in an application for handling official matters may cost taxpayers.
