Starfield is one of the most anticipated RPGs of recent years. It’s hardly surprising – Todd Howard and his Bethesda Game Studios are behind the production, which has such titles as such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Fallout 4. Although premiere “space odyssey” from Bethesda has been postponed several times, but the long-awaited day has finally come.
On September 6 at 2:00 am (Polish time) Starfield went to all players (for the last week the game was available only to owners of the Starfield Premium Edition). The title is available on the Microsoft-owned platform Game Pass (you can play it as part of the subscription), as well as e.g. on Steam and on store shelves (collectors are warned that in the box with the game they will not find a CD, but only an activation code).
And speaking of Steam, it must be admitted that Todd Howard’s game has been receiving very good reviews there since the morning. In total, players have already published over 10,000 reviews, of which as much as 86 percent are positive or very positive. Previously, Starfield was rated by professional reviewers, who also lavished praise on this production. Currently, the game’s average rating on Metacritic is 86/100.
Most players praise the scale of the game and the vastness and possibilities of the open world. Some reviewers note that the studio has combined the best features of its previous productions – Skyrim and the Falout series. However, some people notice some shortcomings – primarily technical errors related to loading textures or completing some missions.
Starfield now available. Can I play for free?
Starfield is an open-world role-playing game in which we play the role of space travelers. The action takes place in the distant future (in the year 2330). During our odyssey, we will visit both cosmic wastelands and bustling cities.
To play Starfield on the Game Pass platform, it is necessary to purchase the Ultimate subscription (PLN 62.99 per month) – if we want to play on computers and Xbox Series X/S consoles, PC (PLN 39.99) – if we want to play only on PC or Console (PLN 42.99) – if we play only on the console.
Importantly, just before the premiere of Starfield Microsoft removed the free trial period from Game Pass. This means that Bethesda’s hit production will not be tested even by players who have not yet had an account on the platform.
Although this is a big disappointment, we could have expected it – it’s no secret that Starfield is to be the driving force behind Game Pass sales. It is worth recalling that the Redmond company has already shortened the trial period from 30 to 14 days,
The game is available only on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs. There is no indication that it will also be available on PlayStation in the future.
