MacRumors: Apple has deprecated the 2015 MacBook Pro
Apple has moved two popular laptops to its obsolete list. This is reported by MacRumors.
The list includes the 15-inch MacBook Pro, released in 2015. Also obsolete was the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2017 release. The company recognizes the devices as rare five years after they last went on sale.
The material says that employees of Apple service centers may refuse to service and repair obsolete devices. However, the decision of specialists depends on the availability of spare parts.
Journalists stressed that the 15-inch MacBook Pro was one of the brand’s most sought-after computers. Despite the fact that the device was introduced in 2015, Apple stopped selling it only in 2018. The authors also recalled that the new macOS Sonoma operating system is compatible with 2018 and newer MacBook Pro models.
In early June, Apple moved the original 12-inch MacBook to the list of rare models. The company also stopped supplying spare parts for it and providing repair services.
