Huawei launches Mate 60 Pro smartphone with satellite connectivity
The Chinese corporation Huawei introduced the flagship smartphone P60 Pro. This is reported by the publication PhoneArena.
The released device did not receive support for 5G, as Huawei has difficulties in manufacturing components for smartphones due to being under US sanctions. The device is distinguished by the presence of a satellite communication option, which allows not only to send SMS, but also to make calls in the absence of a cellular connection. The feature will be available in China to China Telecom subscribers.
The Mate 60 Pro received a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with support for a frequency of 120 hertz, a Kirin 9000S processor, from 12 gigabytes of RAM. On the back of the new device is a camera with 50, 48 and 12 megapixel lenses.
The phone has a 5,000 milliamp-hour battery that supports 88-watt wired fast charging. The Huawei device was the first to receive the HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system.
The cost of Huawei Mate 60 Pro was 6999 yuan, or about 92 thousand rubles. The corporation does not plan to launch the model for sale outside of China.
In early August, Huawei executives announced their return to the smartphone market. In particular, the company noted that in the second quarter of 2023, Huawei’s share in the Chinese smartphone market increased by a record 76.1 percent.
