When words are left, hugs say it all. A father’s nerves and a girl’s fear had the same common denominator: love, based on gratitude.
A man in Ohio, United States, who lost his daughter in July 2022, met the young woman who lives thanks to the heart he gave from his beloved Desirée.
Not only did he want to see the receiver, he wanted to feel, even for a few seconds, his daughter Desirée’s heartbeat that extended 21-year-old Katherine Hermann’s life.
“My daughter lived helping and died helping”: Katia was killed when she stole her car and her family donated a cornea, her heart and two kidneys
Tears and hugs from the heart
“My name is Katherine,” the girl said to the nervous man.
The young woman stretched out her right hand to introduce herself, but he opened his arms and his heart. I craved that hug.
And so they cried and gave thanks very close, in front of the eyes – and tears – of several people.
The meeting has been recorded and it is moving to see it. They both cheered each other up.

“I’m fine and how are you?” Katherine asked the father of her heart donor.
Katherine was diagnosed with a rare congenital disease and underwent 20 surgeries over the years, until the transplant arrived and she received Desirée’s heart, Univisión Noticias reported.
The transplant took place at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio

“Your daughter’s heart is strong and she’s kicking it hard. Yesterday I ran 5 kilometers,” she excitedly told Desirée’s father.
“I had never been able to do it in my life. Without that gift nothing would have been possible, thank you”, Katherine said excitedly.
Again a hug marked the meeting.
As Univisión reported, “this man’s daughter saved four more lives when her organs were donated.”
He did it! Man asks for help for kidney transplant through a Times Square ad, celebrates five years later that it was possible
Emotion in the networks
@latinggirlfitness: How nice! He knows there’s a little piece of his daughter inside her. May God give him long life so that he can continue to see her, for I know this is his desire.
@triz74l: The emotion of the Lord, knowing that his daughter’s heart is still alive and giving life to another person, may God bless him for that commitment to donate his daughter’s organs.
@gildavreal: It’s a blessing. I donated for 4 people when my son died. How nice to see that. My heart breaks when I know that your daughter or son lives in someone else. I never met the people and I hope to God that everyone is well. Blessings. (JO)
