Donald Trump will appear in court in Georgia on Thursday

Former US President donald trump confirmed this Monday that he will appear in a court in Georgia on Thursday to face charges of conspiracy and other charges related to his alleged attempt to annul the 2020 election.

Through his Truth Social platform, Tump said that that day “ARRESTED by a radical left prosecutor, Fani Willis”, the Georgia official in charge of this year’s fourth indictment against the 77-year-old former president.

The judge in the case had approved $200,000 bail for Trump based on the conspiracy filed against him in the southern state.

Trump and 18 other co-defendants in this case have until 12:00 GMT on Friday to appear before authorities in Georgia and register.

In his post, Trump said Willis is acting “in strict coordination with the deranged Justice Department of [el presidente] Joe Biden” and that “it is about INFLUENCE IN THE ELECTIONS”.

The ex-president points out that all charges against him are aimed at blocking his bid for another term in the White House, at a time when he is leading Republican aspirations for the White House by far.

Aside from bail, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee imposed several conditions in an agreement that was approved by prosecutors and Trump’s lawyers.

In a three-page court document, McAffe noted that “the accused will not do anything to intimidate any person known as a co-accused or witness in this case, or to obstruct the administration of justice”.

“The foregoing includes, but is not limited to, social media posts or posts posted by another individual on social media,” the judge said.

McAfee set $100,000 bail each for two co-defendants in the case: former Trump campaign attorneys John Eastman and Kenneth Chesebro.

Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, asked the judge to set the trial date for March 4 next year.

Trump faces four criminal trials in the midst of his race to return to the White House.

He was charged with racketeering and a series of election crimes in Georgia following a two-year investigation into his attempts to reverse his election loss to Biden in Georgia.

Other defendants in the alleged conspiracy include Trump’s former personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and his White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
