Notebookcheck: Apple to release iPhone 14 and 14 Plus with USB-C connector
Apple can transfer not only new models of the iPhone 15 series to the USB-C connector, but also old devices. This is reported by Notebookcheck.
Media journalists referred to report an enthusiast named aaronp613, who studied the mention of two new models of Apple smartphones in the tvOS 17 beta 5 code. According to the author, devices under this identifier were not previously mentioned.
The authors of the publication noted that Apple most likely mentioned two devices of the iPhone 14 series – along with four models of the iPhone 15 line. Apparently, all these gadgets will have a new USB-C port. From this, experts concluded that the company will add a new connector not only to the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, but also to the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
The material says that every year Apple stops selling premium models of the previous generation – for example, in 2022 the company stopped production of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Most likely, the corporation will sell the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, depriving them of the Lightning port.
Earlier, the same specialist under the nickname aaronp613 found mention of new smartphones in the code of the new OS from Apple. The author found in tvOS models with IDs iPhone 15.4, iPhone 15.5, iPhone 16.1, iPhone 16.2.
