Manuel Ranoque, the father of Lesly, the eldest of four siblings lost in the Guaviare jungle for 40 days, was arrested during an operation in Bogotá.
The Mucutuy children became lost in the jungle after the plane they were traveling in with their mother crashed, killing everyone except them.

During the rescue operations, Ranoque spoke to the Colombian media and participated in the search for the children.
However, Narciso Mucutuy and Fátima Valencia, the children’s grandparents, denounced that Ranoque had tried several times to sexually assault their eldest daughter. The man would also have abused the brothers’ mother.

Ranoque was not allowed to approach the children for 15 days.
On Friday, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed the man’s arrest for sex crimes.
