YouTube launched its Premium service back in 2015 (in the US). It entered Poland only four years later. As part of the monthly or annual YouTube fee, we can watch YouTube without ads, in a slightly better quality and using several additional functions – m. download videos to phone memory. In recent months, Google has been doing what it can to convince us of a paid service. But now it has been decided
YouTube Premium is getting more expensive, and significantly. We’ll pay a few dollars more
The standard monthly subscription will increase the most, by $2. Until now, users of the Premium version paid $ 11.99 for access. (PLN 48), now they will have to pay USD 13.99. (PLN 56) per month. The annual subscription price will also increase. Instead of $119.99 (PLN 480), you will have to pay $ 20 more – as much as $ 139.99. (PLN 560) per year. The increase is therefore significant, although of course the annual package is much more profitable than the monthly one (12 months at $ 13.99 is $ 167.88).
The price of the student package will increase less significantly – from $ 6.99 to $ 7.99. (from PLN 28 to PLN 32) per month. Interestingly, the price of the family package remains unchanged – $ 22.99. (PLN 92) per month. The increases (and the prices listed above) apply only to the US market for now. Usually, however, local streaming platforms increase prices over time in other countries, including Poland. On the Vistula River, we can currently enjoy three subscriptions to choose from, and at much lower prices than overseas. The basic package costs PLN 23.99, the family package PLN 35.99, and the student package PLN 13.99.
Do you block ads? YouTube will block you
It is worth recalling that Google is currently testing the function of blocking people who use AdBlock plugins on some users. The platform initially asks you to disable ad blocking, and if the requests do not work – after watching three videos, it cuts off access to the next ones. Google appeals not to avoid watching ads, because it allows you to maintain free access to the platform.
