Striker Cristiane, absent from Women’s World Cup this year and little used by coach Pia Sundhage, commented this Thursday on her situation with the Brazilian Team. The legendary player, who has not appeared in a squad since February 2021, said in an interview with the program Conversation with Bial who does not understand the lack of space.
The Santos athlete stated that she has no disagreement with anyone from the CBF and that she does not know Pia’s motivations behind the non-calls.
“I have no internal friction with the CBF or any director whatsoever. With Pia, I honestly don’t know. I swear I wanted to know the reason,” he said.
Cristiane also remembers her last participation in the Olympics, in Rio-2016, and a single disagreement she had with the CBF, but which was quickly resolved. The striker was also on the list of then coach Vadão for the 2019 World Cup.
“I remember that the last time I beat the CBF was after the 2016 Olympics. I even left the national team at the time and sent an open letter to the president precisely because we had no improvements in the national team.
With the shirt of the Brazilian national team, Cristiane played in five World Cups, with 11 goals scored in 21 matches.
