Ukrainian authorities on Friday announced the arrest of a man who was part of a drug trafficking network that received cocaine from Ecuador.
In a statement, the police said that officers from the Lviv Department of Internal Security managed to apprehend a 42-year-old man, who served as a police officer in that country until 2021, when he received more than $130,000 in change from three kilograms of drugs.
It was explained that this was part of an international channel for the sale of cocaine and that it reached Ukraine from Europe. The network consisted of citizens and customs officials who received and resold the merchandise from foreign drug traffickers.
