Izvestia: sales of smartphones in Russia have surpassed the pre-crisis level
Sales of smartphones in Russia for the first time since the beginning of the sanctions campaign exceeded the pre-crisis level. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to representatives of chain stores.
It is noted that in the second quarter of 2023, the demand for these gadgets among buyers in Russia was higher than in the same period in 2021, when 6.4 million such devices were sold. And in April-June of this year – already more than 6.5 million. Experts attribute this to the active expansion of Chinese telephone brands, whose share in physical terms already reaches 70-80 percent.
According to experts interviewed by the publication, it is too early to talk about a complete recovery of the market, but there are no obvious reasons for a further decline in sales.
Earlier it was reported that Russian retailers recorded price cuts for new Apple smartphones. The price of iPhone 14 series smartphones fell by 12 percent, according to interviewed industry participants.
