The veteran writer was in Peru a few weeks ago to attend private activities, when he was joined by his children and his ex-wife Patricia Llosa. However, Vargas Llosa mostly lives in Madrid, where he spends a long time.
His children added that “he is being treated by excellent professionals and accompanied by his family”, asking the media to “respect his privacy at this time”.
