A firefighter in Florida, United States, and his wife spent ten years doing what they could to be parents. It was not achieved, but they did not lose faith.

One morning, when the man was on duty at the fire station, God had prepared the surprise of his life.

At 2 a.m. on January 2, 2023, an alarm woke him from his dream and when he heard the call, he hesitated: “There was a newborn girl placed in the Safe Box for Babies in the building where he was.”

The firefighter told Today, according to Telemundo 52, that he believed the message was false.

I couldn’t believe there was a baby in that space, in a box or mailbox “allowing someone to safely and anonymously deliver a child.”

Though he thought it was a “false alarm”, he went to the site and yes…he found the girl.

When he opened the box, he saw a beautiful baby wrapped in a pink blanket, he told Telemundo 52.

That baby is the daughter of the firefighter today

The surprise moved him and it was love at first sight. “I picked up the baby and held her. We looked into each other’s eyes and that was it. I’ve loved her ever since,” says the firefighter, who prefers not to give his name.

This story happened in January in Ocala, Florida. Today that girl is the adopted daughter of the firefighter and his wife.

God made them parents in His own way. To his house, to infect them with joy and give them more love, he sent little Zoey.

That early morning that changed her life, the firefighter took the newborn to a hospital. As a paramedic, he wanted to make sure everything was okay.

At the hospital, excited about the girl, he did not hesitate to ask about the process of adopting her.

“I didn’t call my wife right away because I didn’t want to wake her up, but I knew she would join in” on her plan to adopt the girl,” he told the American press.

Before leaving the health center, the firefighter placed a letter next to the baby. “My biggest fear was that the note I wrote wouldn’t stay with Zoey and we’d lose her. Those were very stressful hours.”

What does it mean to adopt a child?

What did the letter say? “I explained that my wife and I had been trying to have a baby for 10 years. I told them we had completed all of our Florida state classes and were registered to adopt,” he said. “All we needed was a child,” the nobleman said, according to Telemundo.

At home he told his partner what he had been living with Zoey and they both cried. Two days later, on January 4, they called: the girl would be sent home.

Zoey was already home that same day and the adoption process was completed in April.

The firefighter sent a message to the birth mother through the media. She wants you to know that the baby has arrived in a home where she will receive care and lots of love.

This couple knows that there is a divine power behind everything. The grateful firefighter excitedly declared when he saw the girl’s gray eyes again, “The way I found her… it was God who helped us.”
