MTC appoints Ismael Sutta Soto as the new Vice Minister of Transportation

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (TCM), through the Ministerial Resolution No. 016-2023-MTCformalized today in the official newspaper El Peruano the appointment of Ismael Sutta Soto as the new Vice Minister of Transport. The brand new vice minister replaces in the post, considered trustworthy, Alberto Neccowho resigned on June 2 of this year.

According to his resume, Sutta Soto is a civil engineer with extensive experience in the public and private sectors. He has held managerial and executive positions in state agencies and companies, in addition to working as a consultant on traffic, transportation and municipal public administration issues.

Before his appointment to the MTC, Sutta Soto served as Vice Minister of Social Benefits in the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion.

He completed his university studies at the San Antonio Abad National University of Cusco and has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnics and Land Routes, from the same institution.

Throughout his professional career, Sutta Soto has held the position of executive director of the National Program for Sustainable Urban Transport (Promobilidad) at the MTC. He has also worked as an adviser at the Vice Ministry of Transportation and as director of Road Transportation Policies and Standards for the MTC. In addition, he has held roles as general manager in the Cusco Silk Service Provider Company, general coordinator in the Regional Development Program of the Regional Government of Cusco, and municipal and Transit, Road and Transportation manager in the Provincial Municipality of Cusco.

The ministerial resolution formalizing his appointment is endorsed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, and the Minister of Transport and Communications, Paola Lazarte.
