Customs Netherlands established a shipment of 3,600 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a load of bananas in the port of Rotterdam.

The prosecutor’s office has explained that the drug could have reached a value of 269 million euros (about $293 million) and that it was divided into 3,587 blocks. The narcotics were probably dumped in Ecuador, it was said.

The drug has already been destroyed, the portal reports dutch news.

The operation is the result of a collaboration between the cargo inspection team HARC, the port police, the Public Prosecution Service Rotterdam and the Intelligence and Investigation Service of the Public Prosecution Service.

This is the largest shipment of cocaine discovered in the Netherlands so far this year. Last year, Antwerp passed Rotterdam in the amount of drugs found.
