A few days ago it seemed that Microsoft would finally abandon its intelligent voice assistant Cortana, which is to lose support on Windows computers in the near future. The company was bent over backwards some time ago to encourage us to use Cortana, but the tool was not a market success and Microsoft finally gave up. However, the company found a way to fill the gap left by the intelligent assistant.
You can talk to the new Bing. But not in Polish
Microsoft decided to use its intelligent chatbot, which operates as part of the Redmond giant’s search engine. Bing Chat was made available to all interested parties a month ago, and now it has the function of conducting conversations also in a voice way. It is able to both recognize speech and read its responses aloud. A while ago, Microsoft provided such a function only in its Edge browser application on smartphones, now it also goes to computers and is already available not only in Edge, but also in other browsers. What is very pleasing, the tool copes well with even very difficult questions and its capabilities match ChatowiGPT.
Unfortunately, for now, Bing Chat only supports five languages (English, Japanese, French, German and Mandarin), but – as Microsoft promises – more are on the way (however, we do not know when they will appear). Unfortunately, the company does not mention a word about whether it will be possible to talk to the chat in Polish in the future.
Microsoft announces the Windows assistant Copilot
It is worth mentioning that Bing Chat will not be the successor to Cortana mentioned at the beginning. In May, during the Build 2023 conference, Microsoft announced the Windows Copilot assistant. It is a full-size chatbot that is to be integrated with Windows 11 in the future. You will be able to quickly use it from the sliding window. Copilot is not only supposed to answer difficult questions, but it will also help us automate many tasks that we perform on Windows computers.
