Getting the green card or permanent residence in the United States there is a wide variety of work visas, but there is one in particular that can exempt from the job offer if the applicant demonstrates a talent that benefits the country: the EB-2 national interest visa.

The EB-2 NAV Visa (National Interest Waiver) or of national interest is directed to the professional immigrant, with a United States postgraduate degree or equivalent, or with exceptional aptitude to be demonstrated.

Requirements for the United States National Interest Visa

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) describes the following: EB-2 Visa Requirements second preference for work:

1. Graduate Degree: U.S. graduate degree or foreign equivalent and more than five years of progressive work experience in your field. If a PhD is required, you must have it from the United States or its foreign equivalent.

2. Exceptional Aptitude: Demonstrate “any exceptional aptitude in the sciences, arts, or business.” Exceptional aptitude is associated with “a degree of ability notably above normal in the sciences, letters, or business,” notes the official USCIS website.
