Is there anyone on board with medical experience? A mid-flight flight attendant’s question surprised the passengers of a Southwest airliner. They were even more shocked to see two people springing out of their seats to attend the emergency on Flight 553.
Fortunately for those who had lost consciousness, nurse Emily Raines and her boyfriend, who were leaving the infirmary for another job, were traveling on the plane.
Emily has extensive experience as an intensive care unit healthcare worker at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the United States, CBS News reported May 31, 2023.
The sick man had fallen unconscious with no pulse, he pointed to the center and Emily Raines came to his aid. The tension was palpable everywhere.
Emily Raines and her boyfriend Daniel Shifflett were on their flight home from Fort Lauderdale to Baltimore when a flight attendant led the couple to a man slumped in his seat.
After 15 minutes, they got his heartbeat back and saved his life. https://t.co/Cr5rDjxtZr

Back to life
On the way to the chair, the woman told her boyfriend that maybe he should help her.
-If we have to do compressions, I want you to do compressions. I take care of everything else, Raines said, per the aforementioned outlet.
He didn’t expect the situation to get worse, but “the patient’s face turned purple.” He slumped back in the chair.
– “Of course it was quite alarming to see his face like this,” he said.
Of course compressions were necessary. “They did several rounds.” Time was running out and they needed the patient to get out of that state.
Emily Raines succeeded: “I’d say we brought him back to life about seven minutes before landing.”
What did the passenger present? “She didn’t have a heart attack, but her heart stopped,” the brave woman replied, according to the news network.

The crew and the rest of the passengers were delighted to receive the gesture and the news that the man had left the emergency. The couple was congratulated.
As soon as the plane landed on the runway, a new phase of medical assistance was activated and the man was rushed to a hospital.
“We saved someone’s life!” celebrates the nurse. And users in networks share their sense of joy. These are the acts of love and solidarity that the world needs. Hope is not lost.
