9to5Mac: iPhone 15 will get iPhone 12 style main camera design

Apple will return to the old back panel design in the new generation of smartphones. This is reported by the publication 9to5Mac.

The journalists of the portal referred to report an insider under the nickname @URedditor, who said that the main camera modules of the iPhone 15 will receive a vertical orientation. Thus, the company’s engineers will change the design of the smartphone – the iPhone 12 and 12 mini, released in 2020, had vertical cameras.

The current launch smartphones – the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus – have a diagonally oriented camera. Regarding the location of the cameras of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and changes in the style of the new devices, nothing has been reported.

According to experts, the new location of the camera modules may be due to the changed layout of the smartphone components. It is also possible that before the launch of the iPhone 15 series devices, Apple will again change the location of the modules.

Journalists also noted that one of the main features of the iPhone 15 will be the presence of a universal USB-C port. The announcement of new smartphones is expected in September.

Earlier, insiders found out that Apple will add a 48-megapixel camera to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus smartphones. It also became known that the devices will have a new three-layer sensor that will capture more light.
