Several explosions were felt at dawn on Thursday in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, where the population was asked to remain in shelters, military authorities reported.
“Debris falls were recorded in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. Data on casualties and damage is being verified, Sergi Popkov, head of Kiev’s civil and military administration, wrote on Telegram.
He emphasized that the air defense systems had worked.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, a fire broke out at a business in Darnytskyi district and an explosion was reported in Desnyansky district.
“The assault on the capital continues. Do not come out of the air raid shelters during the air raid,” Klitschko asked on Telegram.
The military reported “cruise missile” attacks in the Vinnytsia region in the center of the country, and the media reported explosions in Khmelnytskyi, some 100 km further west.
The armed forces indicated that an air raid siren had been activated throughout Ukraine.
