This Wednesday afternoon, a communication from the Colombian President Gustavo Petro filled that country with joy and hope after announcing that four minors who had been missing for 17 days following an accident on the plane they were traveling on have been found alive.

However, the military and aviation forces have not yet confirmed this information. The three adults who were on the plane were found dead.

“We are waiting for confirmation” is the answer from several sources consulted by the armed forces, charged with leading the search effort after the accident of the Cessna 206 aircraft operated by the company Avianline Charter’s, which fell off the radar on May 1 disappeared. . .

The plane suffered an alleged engine failure when it flew between Araracuara, a remote town on the border between the departments of Caquetá and Amazonas, and San José del Guaviare, the capital of the Guaviare department. It was located in a rural area of ​​the hamlet of Rosa of Palma, which is part of the municipality of Solano (Caquetá).

Earlier, a dog that is part of the search found a bottle in another place, which is believed to have been used to feed the baby. The plane was found upside down, indicating that the crew may have attempted to land on giant trees with massive roots in an emergency.

A statement from Avianline Charters’ SAS indicated search duties are continuing in the company of the minor’s father, but upon landing in a community, a pilot was told the minors were being transported across a river and were expected to be that they would arrive in Cachiporro. .
