The fight between Tim Tszyu and Jermell Charlo should take place no later than September 30
The details of the next fight of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) world champion, Australian Tim Tszyu, have become known. About this in Twitter talkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson said.
28-year-old Tszyu will meet with 32-year-old American Jermell Charlo. “The fight for the title of absolute world champion in the light middleweight between Timofey Tszyu and Jermell Charlo should take place no later than September 30,” Benson added.
On March 12, Tim, who is the son of the former absolute world champion Kostya Tszyu, defeated American Tony Harrison and won the WBO championship belt. The Australian knocked out the opponent in the ninth round.
Tszyu was supposed to fight Charlo on January 28, but the fight was postponed indefinitely due to an injury to the American. Athletes had to compete for the championship belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF), WBO and WBA Super, which Charlo currently holds.
Tim Tszyu won 22 victories in his professional career (15 of them by knockout) and did not suffer a single defeat. Charlo now has 35 wins, one loss and one draw.
