The Meta messaging giant is planning to add a new feature, which would add similar channels to the service offered by Telegram, as published by WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp’s latest update contains an interesting novelty: users can subscribe to chats without having to share their personal information, such as their phone number or identification.
This option differs from existing communities in that channels have no member limit and users don’t have to meet any requirements to join. They can only view the received multimedia.

The “Status” tab changes its name to “Updates”. In it there will be a special section “Search for channels”. An information search is displayed there.
