Manolo, as his friends called José Manuel Jiménez, lost his will to live when he received the painful news of his wife’s death. He believed that he could not long endure the absence of Encarni, with whom he had been together for 20 years.

The couple, along with their two daughters aged 12 and 15, lived in the town of Playa Granada, in Motril, a town in Spain. In 12 hours this love story ended violently and today the citizens of Motril, let alone the family, are processing what happened.

Tragedy in Motril

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, review 20 Minutes, Manolo and Encarni Muñoz were driving on the A-44 highway, near the town of Villamena, in Granada, where the traffic accident occurred.

“The man was driving when he collided with an obstacle in the middle of the road. To avoid this, he tried to swerve, but eventually lost control of the vehicle,” he says.

She was the eldest of four siblings, the daughter of a woman who owns a fashion store in Motril. She started working at a very young age and had always been connected to the alarm industry.

Manolo was also called up for the job, a man who could expertly repair what was presented to him.

He worked, explains 20 Minutes, in the construction industry and then became interested in joining the Civil Guard, Traffic section.
