GSM Arena: iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will get larger screens
Apple will increase the size of future smartphones scheduled for 2024. This is reported by the publication GSM Arena.
According to report Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young, in one generation, Apple will change the dimensions of its premium smartphones. The screens of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models are expected to increase to 6.2 and 6.8 inches. The aspect ratio of the displays will also change, which will be 20:9 or 20.5:9. The current iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max devices have screen sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively, with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
In addition, Yang revealed the first features of the basic models of Apple smartphones. The specialist suggested that in 2023 all models of phones of the American brand will receive a Dynamic Island screen cutout, in 2025 the conditional iPhone 17 and 17 Plus will have an LTPO display, in 2027 the launch devices will receive a Face ID sensor built into the display.
At the same time, Pro models will receive the update earlier. Ross Young revealed that Apple will introduce an under-screen Face ID biometric sensor in the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models due in 2025.
Previously, analysts at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) listed the most popular smartphones with OLED display for the first quarter of the year. In January-February, the most popular device on the market was the iPhone 14 Pro Max, in March – the iPhone 14.
