The causes of divorce are generally infidelity, emotional or physical abuse, irreconcilable differences, lack of commitment and even communication… well, one woman lists her odd reason: her husband gave away her cat.

In this relationship, love did not run out. This marriage came to an end due to the unforgivable fact that the “cat lover” feels.

The woman knew her partner wasn’t comfortable with the pet, but she didn’t think she could go that far.

Where’s my cat?

The cat of battle is called Benji and he owns the attention and pampering of a woman who told her case on Reddit.

She told users of that network that she had filed for divorce because, when she returned from a trip, she could not find her cat, which her husband had given her, El Heraldo de México published.

The woman did not reveal her identity, but she did share how “Benji” came into her life.

The kitten “helped him cope with his father’s death.” “He was a great partner,” he said earlier this week, according to the Mexican newspaper.

She adopted the pet. “I was little,” he recalls, and at the time he related his particular case, they had been living together for two years.

The husband, on the other hand, did not like the cat and, according to what he said, described it as “sinister.”

The woman had to travel for a few days. He left “Benji” at home. Upon returning, he immediately noticed the absence of the pet. When he questioned the man, he “told him that a colleague was taking care of the cat”.

Full of doubt, “she called her husband’s boyfriend and got a fatal message…the man told her he wouldn’t give the cat back.” The news was even harder: “Then he found out his cat was in an adoption center.”

Without giving it another thought, he contacted the center and counted on the lucky star to get “Benji” back.

The anonymous woman, when she was baptized, said she did not return to her home with the pet. She went to her sister’s house and, “heartbroken”, decided to get a divorce.

The “cat lovers” respond in networks

Social network users express their opinion as follows: “Excellent, you kept the best,” says Ximena Medina.

Vanessa Digiano: “It’s very good. Whoever does not accept you as you are and with your love for animals does not deserve to be by your side. My ex-husband didn’t let me adopt kittens, among other things. Now I have three.”

Analia López told Clarín a similar story: “Something similar happened to me. I came back from work to look for something I forgot at home and I found my cat in a bag ready for me to load it into the car and take it to throw away. My mother and my husband had conspired then. The cat heard me talking and started meowing into the bag. So I searched for his screams until I found him wrapped up. There I discovered that he lived with the enemies. That they stab you in the back as soon as you turn around.”

And María Cingolani summed it all up in the phrase: “No, with the michi noooo”.
