A girl in El Salvador was not yet 10 years old and a subject, identified as Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero, was already harassing her. It was 2020. Three years later, the man is on trial for kidnapping and sexual abuse of the minor.

The girl disappeared from her home in early May 2023. Her family filed a report after her mother found a letter that her daughter would have written in pencil.

The man, reports La Prensa de Nicaragua, took the minor on Saturday, April 29, 2023. They left El Salvador and on Sunday the 30th “arrived with her at her family’s home in El Viejo, Chinadenga (a Nicaraguan municipality). ” .

The suspicious letter

The surprised mother informed the rest of the family and sued the authorities, who “believed that the girl had been tricked into leaving the country and were treating the case as a kidnapping”.

The Colombian outlet points out that “Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero fled to Nicaragua with the little girl. The police found his whereabouts and then put him behind bars.”

How the girl and the adult met

The Nicaraguan media reported on Monday, May 8, 2023 that the girl is expected to give her testimony at a pre-evidence hearing requested by the Public Prosecution Service (MP).

The subject met the child “when she was working in the cane field with her mother and an aunt” in El Salvador.

There were doubts about the age of the victim, but her mother presented the birth certificate and she is indeed 12 years old.
