How the girl and the adult met
The Nicaraguan media reported on Monday, May 8, 2023 that the girl is expected to give her testimony at a pre-evidence hearing requested by the Public Prosecution Service (MP).
Gustavo Guerrero, they add, citing the prosecution’s accusation, “began harassing the girl in October 2020, when the minor had not yet turned 10 years old.”
The subject met the child “when she was working in the cane field with her mother and an aunt” in El Salvador.
accusation
The man “helped her cut sugar cane and gave her $30 every two weeks.” According to the prosecutor, Guerrero allegedly sexually assaulted her last October.
La Prensa reveals that this crime would have been repeated three more times. The MP accused the subject “of raping a child under the age of 14”.
There were doubts about the age of the victim, but her mother presented the birth certificate and she is indeed 12 years old.
The institution has as evidence to support this accusation “the forensic opinion confirming the assault and the letter from the minor.”
According to El Tiempo, under the “nica” court system, Gustavo Guerrero could “pay up to 20 years in prison if found guilty. In addition, local media say he could also be asked for extradition by El Salvador to respond to authorities.
