The latest polls show that support for the royal family is declining, especially among the youngest.

Six anti-monarchist activists were arrested in London on Saturday morning as they prepared for a demonstration against the coronation of the monarch. King Charles IIIthe organizers of the protest told AFP.

Police arrested “six of our organizers and seized hundreds of banners” reading “Not my King,” said a spokesman for the Republic group, whose supporters had gathered in central Trafalgar Square to cheer the royal procession when it came by.

“This is exactly why we are here today. Because the monarchy represents everything that is wrong with the UK: privilege, inequality and lack of democracy,” Martin Weegman, one of the anti-monarchist protesters, told AFP.
