Electronics Hub: Moto G7 and Samsung device recognized as the easiest smartphones to repair

The experts studied the repair instructions for 228 smartphone models from the iFixit list and assessed the complexity of servicing each device. As a result, the authors named the most simple and complex devices to repair. The easiest was Motorola Moto G7, which takes 25 minutes to service. Also included in the rating are the Samsung Galaxy A40, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 13.
Google Pixel 7 was recognized as the most difficult device to repair – it took more than an hour to complete all operations with the device. Experts noted that the device from Google has a lot of removable elements and tiny screws. Also, there were problems with the repair of Samsung Galaxy Note 10, iPhone SE third generation, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Xiaomi Mi 9.
The report says that Asus, HTC and LG produce smartphones that are the easiest to service – on average, the brand’s devices took no more than 30 minutes to repair. On the contrary, the complexity of devices produced by Sony, Xiaomi and Huawei was called relatively high.
In mid-April, insiders reported that Samsung would be returning removable batteries to some of its smartphones. It is noted that the new batteries will be adapted for quick maintenance and replacement.
