Hackers attacked the Stock Exchange and more

On Thursday, Russian hackers from the NoName group boasted about the attack on the Stock Exchange. As a result of the attack, the WSE website did not work properly. “Due to technical problems, we would like to inform you that there may be temporary disruptions in access to the information services of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Capital Group: gpw.pl, newconnect.pl, gpwcatalyst.pl, tge.pl, gpwbenchmark.pl, 4Brokernet, bondspot. pl. Actions have been taken to ensure the continuity of operation of the information services of the GPW Group, reads the WSE communiqué on Thursday. It was emphasized that the situation did not affect the proper functioning and security of the exchange transaction system.

On Thursday evening, the Wall Street Journal reported that Eurocontrol (the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation) had been attacked by hackers claiming to be one of the well-known Russian groups. Earlier, hackers attacked the BLIK system, and the two largest Polish banks, Pekao and PKO, also had problems with operation.

The PZU Group is the largest financial institution in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, managing over PLN 300 billion in assets. It consists of several companies, and is headed by Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń SA (PZU SA) – an insurance company with traditions dating back to 1803. The PZU Group offers insurance and investment services in five countries, and its core business is other personal and property insurance, as well as group insurance for self-employed persons and employees of small and large companies.
