starship, the largest and most powerful spacecraft ever developed, lifted off for its maiden flight this morning from SpaceX’s Texas base. But a few seconds after release, the ship burst into flames, ending the tour that should have lasted an hour and a half.
The problems with the starship They started before takeoff, when they delayed the big event by 40 seconds to check the pressure of the Super Heavy rocket’s propellant and second stage.

Super Heavy, the missile integrated in starship, is the height of a 40-story building. This device was supposed to propel the ship for about eight minutes, enough time for the ship to reach 150 miles high and fly for 90 minutes.
However, Elon Muskthe CEO of SpaceX, does not believe that the explosion frustrated the test flightdespite the fact that the ship had to fly across the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans only to fall into the sea bordering Hawaii.
SpaceX assured that on its Twitter account the test was a “success”. “With a test like this, success depends on how much we can learn, and launching today will improve reliability starship as we pursue the goal of bringing life to other planets.”
