Since April 18, several regions of Peru have started a 48-hour strike to demand that the government pay attention to the rains that hit them.

Piura, Tumbes and Lambayeque, located in the north of the country, came together to denounce the little help they have received from the government of Dina Boluarte in the face of the emergency caused by heavy rainfall.

In the case of Tumbes, the North Pan-American highway connecting to Ecuador was blocked on Tuesday at the points Puente Héroes del Cepena, Puente Piedritas and Puente Internacional. While in Piura, the Miraflores Bridge was taken, as well as the road to Paita. Hours later, several blocked sections were released.

A march was held in Piura on Tuesday afternoon with several authorities repeating calls for attention, it was reported The Republic.

On the other hand, this Wednesday was reported the blockade of the North Pan-American highway, at the height of Zarumilla, due to “lack of attention on the part of the central government in the face of various problems that have arisen in the region.”

Congressman Bernardo Pazo anticipated in PTR that on April 24 and 25, the installation of technical tables was planned to evaluate the orders made. Mayors, professional associations and representatives of the college would participate.
