A well-known specialist said that he had found new data about future Apple smartphones. According to the author, Apple engineers will replace the physical switch, with which you can turn off the sound of the phone, with a touch button “Action” (Action Button). Analyst941 said that it will perform several functions.

Firstly, by pressing the new button and the volume up button, it will be possible to restart the smartphone. Secondly, the Action Button will replace the volume up button in the camera application – now it is responsible for starting to take a photo or video. Apparently, the new button will appear only in premium models – iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

The insider explained that the new control will be pressure sensitive. A light press will start autofocusing, a medium press will focus the camera on the selected object, a long press will cause the phone to take a picture of the object or start recording video. A similar action button, but with a mechanical design, appeared in the smart watch Apple Watch Ultra.

At the end of November 2022, Barclays analysts said that Apple will abandon the physical control buttons in future smartphones. “The biggest change in new iPhone models next year is the removal of buttons,” the authors of the report noted.
