Unusual: In Missouri, United States, a 78-year-old woman was arrested accused of committing a robbery at the Goppert Financial Bank in Pleasant Hill.

The seventy-year-old was identified as Bonnie Gooch and according to the cashier involved in the surprise attack on the woman, he received a note from her on which he could read the demand of “13 thousand dollars in small bills” (low denomination).

The perpetrator behaved strangely, since she also gave the cashier a note on which she left her apology.

Thanks, sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.

“You know who I am, are you serious?” They tried to rob him at an ATM and when he turned around he discovered it was his father

There is a recording of the older woman’s presence in the bank on security cameras.

According to official testimony from local newspaper The Kansas City Star, Gooch entered the Goppert Financial Bank headquarters on April 5 wearing a black N95 mask, black sunglasses and plastic gloves, Semana said.

Through videos, authorities were able to confirm that the woman “hit the counter to rush the young cashier,” who, Miami Diario reported, was surprised by the situation.

The woman exited the bank, committed her robbery, and “drove — a Buick Enclave — until she was apprehended less than 2 miles away, in a vehicle that, at the time of the arrest, had the floor littered with bills.”

Background in bank robberies

At this age, on his way to turning 80, Gooch is not having his first experience of this type of crime.

According to what was published on April 10, 2023 by the Los Angeles Times, Bonnie Gooch was arrested on $25,000 bail following the robbery that took place Wednesday in Pleasant Hill, the Kansas City Star reported.

“In the internet records, there is no lawyer for her,” they added.

The seventy-year-old had two files for bank robberies.

She was previously convicted of robbing a bank in California in 1977 and one in suburban Kansas City in 2020. Her probation following the second robbery ended in November 2021, the media said earlier.

When perpetrating the 2020 attack, El Espectador reported, he apparently gave the cashier a birthday card that read, This is a robbery.

At the time of her third arrest, Gooch had “a strong breath of alcohol,” a police officer said, the Miami Diario reported.

Pleasant Hill Police Chief Tommy Wright “added after reviewing records that the woman has no diagnosed illnesses.”
