SamMobile: Samsung Ends Support for Galaxy S10 and Galaxy A50 Series Smartphones
Samsung has expanded the list of smartphones that were left without update support. This is reported by SamMobile.
Journalists of the portal noticed that two product lines disappeared from the page of the corporation’s website dedicated to software updates for smartphones. First of all, Samsung removed the Galaxy S10 series smartphones, and the company also removed information about the Galaxy A50 phone.
According to experts, this means that the manufacturer recognizes smartphones as obsolete and stops supporting them – previously popular devices will no longer receive Android updates. The authors noted that the Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+ flagships released in early 2019 received three system updates each – Android 10, 11 and 12. The affordable Galaxy A50 received two updates – Android 10 and 11.
At the same time, for some reason, the Galaxy S10 5G released at the same time, which is distinguished by support for fifth-generation networks, will continue to receive system updates. The Galaxy S10 Lite, introduced at the beginning of 2020, also remained on the list of current devices.
Earlier it became known that Samsung led the global smartphone market in February, overtaking Apple. According to Counterpoint Research analysts, high sales are associated with the release of the Galaxy S23 line of smartphones.
