, i.e. the new application of Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne is to allow us to check when the load on the energy system is the highest. PSE emphasizes that thanks to the wise use of the network, we can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions.
An application that allows you to check the peak energy hours
The main task of the application is to inform users at what times the demand for energy is the highest. The application shows both the current load and estimated data for the next day, which are updated daily (excluding Sundays and holidays) before 17.
A green rectangle means normal power consumption and no restrictions on the use of energy. Yellow boxes are a request to reduce consumption, i.e. postpone the most energy-intensive activities to another time of the day. Only time periods when the situation in the power system is extremely difficult are marked in red and it is recommended to limit the use of electricity to the minimum necessary.

In addition, the application also shows tips on how to save energy (e.g. lowering the temperature in the room), reminds you to turn off the lights or not leave devices in standby mode. He also points out that the small gestures of many people can protect us from blackout. “Your small gestures will avoid the risk of power outages. Save energy, protect the environment and your finances” – we read in the application.
Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne explains in a communication that at the time of the greatest demand for electricity, it must be largely satisfied with the power of coal and gas power plants, which are not ecological. What’s more, during an exceptionally heavy system load, the least efficient units, and thus the most expensive, must be started.
“In a situation of a very tight balance, all available generation capacities are in operation, including the least efficient ones, generating the most CO2 and producing the most expensive energy. Market mechanisms mean that it is the least efficient and most expensive power plants that will determine the settlement price of electricity in a given hour” – translate PSE.
