According to The Guardian, police officers with a warrant searched the rapper’s home in connection with an investigation into drug possession, trafficking and kidnapping. The uniforms found no evidence of a crime that could incriminate the musician.
The action carried out by the police was recorded by surveillance cameras, which made Afroman succumb to the temptation to get back at the officers. Clearly offended by the allegations and the treatment of his property as a crime scene, he published excerpts from the recordings that were recorded by his home cameras.
The cut video material was placed in the music videos “Will you help me repair my door” and “Why you disconnecting my video camera”, as well as in the artist’s social media – on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Afroman’s reach is not small, and the faces of policemen were visible in fragments of the video. The uniforms stated that they would not allow themselves to be further humiliated, especially since, apart from mocking comments, they received criminal threats and even death threats. Seven uniformed officers filed a lawsuit in which they demand $ 25,000 each, or about PLN 109,000 in compensation from the rapper. Police officers emphasize that Afroman’s online activities have traumatized them, which prevents them from practicing their profession and that their privacy has been violated.
The uniforms also demand that the recordings with their image be removed from the network.
But Afroman has other things on his mind as well. In 2022, he announced that he planned to run in the American presidential election. He noted that his most important postulate is the legalization of marijuana throughout the United States.
