According to the air force of the European country, an attack with a kamikaze drone was reported in Ukraine this Saturday. Some drones are hitting regions that are almost on the sidelines of the war that Russia has been waging on Ukrainian territory since February last year.

“At around 9pm on March 17, 2023, the Russian invader attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones,” the air force reported on Telegram.

The entity assured that eleven of the sixteen drones were shot down.

“At around 1 a.m., our region was attacked by Shahed 136 type kamikaze drones. According to preliminary information, there were six of them,” Lviv regional governor Maksym Kozytski said.

In the southeastern area, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, three drones were shot down, said the director of the regional council, Mykola Lukashuk.

“Two others hit a critical infrastructure facility in Novomoskovsk,” Lukashuk added.

The official said the attack caused a fire and damage that was “significant”.
