“Every missile shot down means a life saved,” Melissa Bell of CNN stressed in her material. The journalist watched the work of Ukrainian “drone hunters”, i.e. soldiers who watch the sky all day to be able to shoot down enemy missiles if necessary.

Melissa Bell in her material showed how Ukrainian forces shoot down Iranian Shahed drones with rifles and the German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun. A CNN correspondent in Ukraine noted that “every missile shot down means a life saved”.

Sergei is a Ukrainian “drone hunter”. He only regrets one thing

Sergei, one of the Ukrainian soldiers, told the journalist that he regretted not shooting down all three drones. – It is a pity, because two flew further and hit civilian objects or critical infrastructure where people worked – he stressed. This, Melissa Bell explained, is one of Ukraine’s “drone hunters” who watch the sky all day and all night to be able to quickly shoot down Russian missiles and drones if necessary.

The CNN correspondent emphasized that Western weapons play a huge role here. She also showed the remains of the Shahed drone fished out of the Black Sea. – This is an unusual opportunity to see the remains of Iranian death technology. (…) From the front, it could carry up to 50 kilograms of explosives, she noted.

British MoD: Wagner’s group has taken most of eastern Bakhmut

Meanwhile, the UK Ministry of Defense said in a daily report that the Wagner Group had occupied most of the smaller eastern part of Bakhmut. The front line in the city is now marked by the Bachmutka River crossing it from north to south.

The Ukrainians destroyed the river crossings and established new defensive positions in buildings on the west bank. The soldiers on both sides are separated by a strip 200 to 800 meters wide. According to the British, crossing the river and approaching the new Ukrainian positions will be more difficult for the Wagner Group than before.

Ukrainian supply lines from the west are in danger of being cut due to Russian attempts to encircle Bakhmut.
