GSM Arena: Honor Magic5 Pro Smartphone Gets Improved Silicon-Carbon Battery
The Chinese company Honor has announced the release of the first smartphone with a silicon-carbon battery. It is reported by GSM Arena.
The corporation said that they found a way to improve the battery for phones without radically changing its characteristics. The company’s engineers have created a silicon-carbon battery that has an increased density – about 12.8 percent more than conventional lithium batteries. A new battery with a capacity of 5450 milliamp-hours received a smartphone Magic 5 Pro.
According to the firm, once the voltage in a standard battery drops below 3.5 volts, the battery will discharge. In the case of a silicon-carbon battery, the voltage drop does not significantly affect its performance. Ultimately, the autonomy of the device increases.
The new phone will go on sale in China. At the same time, the company announced global deliveries of the device, but the version for the rest of the world will receive a standard lithium battery with a capacity of 5100 milliamp-hours.
Previously, under the Nokia brand, the G22 smartphone was introduced, which has increased maintainability. The device received a modular design and a set of tools in the kit for home maintenance.
