New iPhones will get more RAM

Apple intends to significantly improve the characteristics of future smartphones. This was reported in a report by the TrendForce agency.

As it became known to the authors of the material, the most expensive phones of the iPhone 15 series will receive 8 gigabytes of RAM. For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max came with 6 gigabytes of RAM. The update will improve the performance of gadgets and allow devices to process more tasks in the background.

Experts noticed that this is the first such upgrade since 2020, when Apple equipped the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max with 6 gigabytes of RAM. Most likely, the American company will announce a new series of smartphones at a presentation in September.

The report also states that due to unfavorable factors in the market, the growth of the average amount of RAM in smartphones has slowed down. “When developing devices that were scheduled for release in 2022, the companies mainly adhered to the hardware specifications that could be provided by the components in their existing stocks,” the authors noted, emphasizing that the situation with components has improved markedly at the moment.

Earlier, 9to5mac journalists reported that the future Apple smartphone will receive an iPhone 5c-style body and touch buttons. The company will also ditch stainless steel in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max in favor of titanium.
