Samsung has just presented new smartphones from the Galaxy S23 series, which has been speculated on the web for a long time. These are the new flagships for 2023, which – like last year’s models – will be sold in three varieties that differ in, among others, screen size. Meet the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 + are flagships of flesh and blood
Let’s start with the two more basic models, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 +. The first thing that catches the eye is the change in the design of both models. The Koreans decided this time to remove the characteristic bulge on the housing that surrounded the camera lenses. The differences from the Galaxy S23 and S23+ are limited to the size of the screens. In the first case, Samsung decided on a diagonal of 6.1 inches, and in the second 6.6 inches. In both cases, we are talking about Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 48-120 Hz.
The heart of both smartphones is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is currently the most efficient system for Android smartphones on the market. Samsung boasts that the new smartphones will be even more efficient than last year’s flagships, but does not reveal detailed calculations. The Qualcomm processor will work with 8 GB of RAM regardless of the version. Users will get 128, 256 or 512 GB of space for data (the 128 GB version will not be available for the Galaxy S23 +).
The camera set of both smartphones is identical and consists of a main camera with a resolution of 50 Mpix (f / 1.8), a wide-angle camera of 12 Mpix (f / 2.2) and a telephoto lens that zooms in three times (10 Mpix, f / 2.4) .

The whole thing will be powered by batteries with a capacity of 3900 mAh in the case of the Galaxy S23 and 4700 mAh in the Galaxy S23+. It is worth noting that the capacity of the batteries in both smartphones has increased by 200 mAh. Traditionally, smartphones will support wireless charging with the possibility of reverse charging.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, or Note with a stylus under a new name
The new generation of smartphones with the note Ultra is traditionally dedicated to people who have the highest requirements and will be able to use the above-average capabilities of the smartphone. The Galaxy S23 Ultra differs significantly from both smaller smartphones, not only in terms of specification, but also in appearance.

The design of the smartphone strongly resembles the good old Galaxy Note series, which the Koreans abandoned in 2020. Galaxy S23 Ultra (like its predecessor in the Ultra version) has an angular casing typical for galactic notebooks, a large screen and an S Pen stylus, which can be hidden in a built-in pocket.
The display of the Ultra version has a diagonal of 6.8 inches and has been slightly bent on the longer edges, which some people should like. In the left part of the housing there is a stylus (removable from the bottom edge), and on the backs there are camera lenses. In conclusion, it is difficult to find any change in the design compared to last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Inside the housing, in turn, is similar to the two smaller models just shown. The heart of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but this time it works with 8 or 12 GB of RAM. There are also three versions with internal memory for data – 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB.

The difference from the Galaxy S23 and S23 + smartphones will be felt in the case of a screen that is not only larger, but also has a higher resolution (3088 x 1440 pix). Traditionally, it is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an automatic refresh rate in the range of 1 to 120 Hz. Knowing Samsung, you can expect that it will be the best screen that has been used in smartphones so far.
Another difference lies just under the lenses of the cameras, especially the main one. In his case, Samsung decided to use a matrix with a resolution of up to 200 Mpix (f / 1.7 lens). This will probably make the photos incredibly detailed, but will it not affect the quality of the photos? We have to wait with the answer until the first tests.
In addition, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a camera with a 10x telephoto lens (10 Mpix, f / 2.4). The other two cameras, i.e. wide-angle and tele 3x, have the same specification as in the Galaxy S23 and S23 + versions. A battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh is responsible for powering the largest of the new Korean phones.

Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra smartphones should soon be available for sale in Poland as well. The official prices of the new devices, however, remain unknown for the time being.
