The brilliant GTA V was released by Rockstar in September 2013 and was a huge success around the world. All the more, players have been waiting for years for the next installment of adventures played in a virtual open world.
GTA 6 delayed. The premiere may be in two years
Unfortunately, it is still not certain when GTA 6 will finally hit computers and consoles. For years, Rockstar did not even admit that it was working on the game. It wasn’t until a massive leak of data about the game in 2022 that the studio officially confirmed that work on the next installment of the GTA series (the name of the game, however, was not given) is actually ongoing.
Now, unfortunately, it turns out that we will have to wait a little longer for the game’s release. Tom Henderson, a well-known industry journalist and founder of Insider Gaming, claims that the work will be delayed by Rockstar and the premiere of the title will take place only in 2025, i.e. in two years at the earliest.
So far, several leaks have suggested that the game should be released in 2024. We are also impatiently waiting for the official trailer of the game, which – as rumored on the web – already exists, but has not yet been made public. According to Henderson, the trailer will see the light of day at the turn of October and November 2023.
The journalist claims that the delay in the release of GTA 6 will allow Rockstar to refine every detail to make the game another huge success. Especially since last year’s data leak reportedly took a toll on Rockstar and caused a lot of extra work.
This is a fairly credible translation, also considering the wave of criticism that fell on the studio after the release of the not very polished Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in November 2021. Rockstar, instead of focusing on the next production, had to refine the bug-riddled game. The mobile version (for Android and iOS) of the refreshed trilogy – although it was supposed to appear shortly after the release of the game for consoles – has not been released until today.
