In Russia will begin mass production of IP-surveillance cameras

Mass production of IP surveillance cameras and their implementation will begin in Russia by the end of 2023. Izvestia writes about this on Wednesday, January 18, with reference to the New Industrial Software roadmap approved by the government in December 2022.

According to the publication, the Ministry of Digital Development is responsible for the implementation of the project. The serial production of IP cameras should be launched in 2023-2024, and their distribution channels should be built. During the same period, at least one million such devices must be delivered to customers. Next year, it is planned to launch the production and supply of cameras with improved characteristics, namely with a variable focal length of the lens.

Rostelecom and ER-Telecom Holding, which provide video surveillance services to customers, are listed in the document as co-organizers of the project and customers of the cameras. The press service of Rostelecom explained to the publication that the companies are anchor customers in the framework of the project and are designed to meet demand. The parameters of the projects are at the stage of coordination and it is still premature to talk about the details, the representative of the company emphasized.

The press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation told the publication that Elektra LLC will be engaged in the production of cameras. Telecom operators plan to install cameras on the streets at the request of the city authorities, as well as in public and private territories, if the owner has such a request.

Earlier it was reported that smoking cigarettes and vapes in unauthorized places in Russia will be monitored using CCTV cameras. Currently, the development of a prototype system is beginning, which allows to quickly catch the intruder and send a signal to the relevant authorities or those responsible for security.
