How to use the feature to manage storage
You just have to go to “Manage storage” found in the application settings and start freeing up space or configuring temporary messages. Follow the steps below:
- On the CHATS tab, tap More options > Settings.
- Tap Storage & data > Manage storage.
As you can see in the following image (the third screenshot), the amount of space occupied on your device by WhatsApp media and applications and other items is displayed at the top of the screen.

In this section you can choose to delete files larger than 5MB, also see the chats with the largest amount of busy data, make manual selections and delete what you like.

- On the CHATS tab, tap More options > Settings.
- Tap Storage & data > Manage storage.
- Tap Forwarded many times, More than 5 MB, or select a specific chat.
- You can touch the sort icon to sort by Newest, Oldest, or Largest.
- To delete elements you can choose between the two options:
- Delete all items: Touch Select all if you want to delete all items at once.
Delete individual elements: Touch and hold an item you want to delete. Select additional items to remove multiple items at once.
