Last week, a report by China’s Binance – the world’s largest exchange – indicated that the FTX exchange (the world’s third largest) founded by Sam Bankman-Fried may be vulnerable to a liquidity crisis. On Friday, FTX started bankruptcy proceedings.

“In light of the global collapse of FTX and the temporary liquidation of FTX Digital Markets Ltd, teams from the Crime Investigation Division are working closely with the Bahamas Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether any crime has taken place,” a spokesperson for the exchange said in a statement, citing Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, citing his sources, he indicates that at least $1 billion of customer funds evaporated from the FTX exchange during the week. “Exchange founder Sam Bankman-Fried secretly transferred $10 billion of customer funds from FTX to his trading company, Alameda Research. A large chunk of that sum has since disappeared,” an anonymous source told the agency.

Bitcoin recorded a decline after the turmoil surrounding the FTX exchange

The collapse of FTX hit cryptocurrency quotes. The world’s most popular digital currency recorded a significant drop – just over a week ago it was valued at over 20,000. dollars. Currently (as of November 14) its value is approaching 17,000. dollars.

Ethereum – the second largest cryptocurrency – reacted similarly. Just before its collapse, FTX cost around $1,600, and today it is valued at around $1,250.
