Cyberexpert Sizov: viruses on a computer can disguise themselves as browser extensions
Malicious programs can get into your computer even if the device is protected. Aleksey Sizov, an expert on cybersecurity and anti-fraud, spoke about the “weak points” of the antivirus in an interview with Sputnik radio.
According to Sizov, the antivirus detects malware using special databases that can detect malicious codes or detect suspicious “behavior” of applications. However, information about new dangerous services may not be available in the antivirus database.
Meanwhile, more often malware gains access due to the careless actions of the computer owner. The cyberexpert gave two recommendations for protecting against malware that can elude antivirus software – regularly update your antivirus and be more careful about the permissions that any programs request.
Earlier, specialists from the cybersecurity company Positive Technologies and the VK platform gave Russians advice on protecting against phishing in social networks: experts advised downloading programs only from official app stores and avoid clicking on links common on various platforms.
